Training games for newbs.
«EpicmafiaI believe we need training games desperately, more so than we need mods or anything. All mods would be able to do is running around putting out grass fires, while the fuel is alive and well.
At the moment, exsperienced players are constantly being forced to play with complete newbs on their team as they aim for a trophy. This is leading to constant devastating frustration for experienced players, and frequent unjustified abuse directed at new players. It's like putting pro footy players on the same field as newbs and hoping the newbs don't get hurt!!!
Unranked games don't teach newbs anything. They are usually confusing setups, no one takes them seriously and when a newbie gets into ranked games, they might as well be a total newb, no matter how many unranked they play.
SUGGESTION:
Split "unranked" games into two types of games: TRAINING GAMES, limited only to simple setups (no third party or semi closed) that are the only games newbs can join. and UNRANKED GAMES which are the same as currently and can be used to test new setups or play crazy setups, but are as inaccessible to newbs as ranked games.
Newbs should have to keep playing TRAINING games until they can find a certain number of players to vouch for their competence, at which stage they have access to all other setups.
Experienced players should be required to play a certain number of training games in order to keep their own access to ranked games. This ensures that newbies will learn in real game scenarios.
Once a player has achieved access to ranked games, they should automatically get the same access on their alts.

What this means is I've been playing entirely for the sake of having fun and educating newbs. So when I tell you the newb situation is getting out of control, I'm not speaking from a trophy running biased perspective.
The newbs ARE getting out of control.
